Every wine tells a story

Congratulations to Tara, otherwise know as the Wine Passionista  for gathering the thoughts of 29 wine writers, including me, into her new book, “Every wine tells a story”.   This is a collection of the most memorable bottles of 2010 to warm the wine lover’s soul.

For me the wine was a Kaapse Vonkel 2008 supplied by SA Wines Online . My daughter got engaged on the top of Table Mountain and it seemed appropriate to continue the South African theme during her wedding day so the celebratory sparkler on the day was the wine from Simonsig. All the other wines and the beer were also from South Africa. I can’t think of a more special day in a father and daughter’s life than the day they walk down the aisle together at the start of the wedding ceremony. It was thus a “no brainer” for me when Tara asked me if I could think of a particular wine for me that had a special story attached to it.

When I look at the calibre of the other contributors in the book – Simon Woods for example  - I’m flattered to have been asked by Tara to contribute. It was a (short) labour of love however and I’m looking forward to reading everyone else’s contributions.

The book is available from Lulu.com and will soon be available from Amazon.
